Essential information for Proms on the Pitch

‘Proms on the Pitch’ is the first event of its kind to be held on the hallowed turf of Emerald Headingley Stadium.  A gala evening of music and entertainment to celebrate the opening of the newly developed Emerald Headingley Stadium. Featuring Lesley Garrett and Headingley fan favourite, John Innes supported by the Yorkshire Gala Orchestra and conductor, Stephen Bell.

Can I buy tickets on the day?

Tickets for ‘Proms on the Pitch’ will be available to purchase from the Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office on St Michael’s Lane on event day. Please ensure you get in touch prior to travelling to ensure tickets are available for sale. 

Tickets can still be purchased in advance either over the phone on 0371 423 1315, by coming down to Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office at Emerald Headingley Stadium or online via tickets.therhinos.co.uk. These can be collected on the day right up until the event begins.

What are the timings for the event?

  • Gates open at 5pm
  • Pre-concert performances from 5.45pm
  • Proms concert to commence at 7.15pm
  • Laser / firework display at 9.45pm
  • Event to finish at 10pm

How do I enter the stadium?

Gates will open at 5pm and you will enter the stadium via St Michael’s Lane turnstiles which are situated next to Gate B on St Michael’s Lane. All details are stated on your event ticket.

Can I bring my own food and drink into the stadium?

Unfortunately, you will be unable to bring your own food and drink into the stadium. There will be a range of food and drink concessions you can purchase from in both the North Stand concourse and on the route from the turnstiles towards the pitch. There will be bars and concessions serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, hot drinks, crisps, confectionery and ice cream, a Gin and Prosecco bar and various food concessions.

Recyclable Cups

Our North Stand concourse bar provides plastic one-pint re-usable cups with various Leeds Rhinos designs to avoid single use plastic. You pay a £1 deposit and can either keep the cup as a souvenir or get a refund after the event from the bars.

Parking

Pre-registration for Car Park F is now closed. However, free parking is available at Car Park K, which is signposted near the stadium and is a short walk from the St Michael’s Lane turnstiles. The post code for Car Park K is LS4 2SB and is available on a first come, first served basis. Car Park K will be open from 5pm on Saturday.

Event Day Drop Off

There will be a drop off point for attendees opposite Gate B on St Michael’s Lane (LS6 3BR) in front of the Cricket Shop and Cricket Ticket Office for people who attend the event by being dropped off or arrive in a taxi. This will be the same area for collection after the event.

Where will the stage be situated?

The stage will be positioned facing the North Stand which runs along the side of the pitch.

Where will my ticket be positioned?

  • Attendees who have pitch access will be in front of the stage on the pitch.
  • Attendees who have unreserved seated tickets will be situated in the North stand which runs along the side of the pitch. The stage will be situated on the pitch to face the North Stand. This stand is undercover. You will select your own seat on event day on a first come, first served basis.

Pushchairs and wheelchairs will not be allowed onto the pitch or into the seated areas.

Can I bring my own seat if I have pitch access tickets?

If you have chosen a standing ticket for the pitch, you may bring in camping chairs / stools and picnic blankets to sit on. Pushchairs and wheelchairs will not be allowed onto the pitch.

Where will the toilets be on the day?

There are toilets situated in the North Stand concourse area and the ground floor of Extentia Stand which can be used by all event attendees. Accessible toilets are also available in these areas and aRADAR key will be required to gain access –all event supervisors carry RADAR keys, but we encourage you to bring your own. 

Within the North Stand there is also a Changing Place. Changing Places facilities are designed to provide space and equipment, enabling those who need them to enjoy events at the stadium safely and comfortably. Our Changing Places facilities operate via a looped hoist, anyone that needs to use the hoist should provide their own slings as we do not provide slings. The framework for the hoist is manual and the hoist can take up to 200kg. 

Can I bring bags into the stadium?

Bags are permitted in Emerald Headingley Stadium however they must adhere to the stadium ground regulations which stipulates nothing larger than an A4 piece of paper will be permitted. What Disabled facilities are at Emerald Headingley Stadium?

The stadium has a range of accessible facilities available including accessible entry gates, lift access in the North Stand which will be available on event day, wheelchair areas with seats for helpers to providea view of the stage along the side and accessible toilet facilities.

Fireworks, Pyrotechnics, Flashing Lights and Lasers

During this event there will be use of pyrotechnics, flashing lights, special effects and flash photography used. It should be noted that the fireworks that are in use during the performance will be very loud.

Can I record or professionally photograph the show?

The use of recording equipment or professional cameras is strictly prohibited. If you wish to apply for accreditation to be able to photograph the show, please email events@leedsrugby.com.

Will there be an Event Programme available to purchase on the day?

There will be a free event programme given out on the day.

Inclement Weather

In case of inclement weather, ‘Proms on the Pitch’ will not be cancelled however the event programme may be amended in the interest of safety and enjoyment of the audience. All tickets that are sold are either undercover or have an undercover position available as an alternative.

Are dogs allowed to attend the event?

Dogs are not allowed, except guide dogs. It should be noted however, that the fireworks that are in use during the performance will be very loud.

Travel Information

From M1 and M62

Take M621 – Leave at junction 2, signposted Emerald Headingley Stadium. Follow the A643 (A58) Wetherby road – at the next roundabout take the City Centre/Wetherby A58 exit. Almost immediately, bear left to Ilkley (A65) and the airport. At the lights (TGI Friday is on the left), turn left into Kirkstall Road A65. Go straight on for about .75 mile (Yorkshire Television is on the right). There is a sign at the traffic lights showing “Headingley 1.5 miles”. Stay in the right-hand lane. Turn right and go up the hill to another set of traffic lights at the crossroads. Carry straight on up Cardigan Road (Co-op is on the left). After the pedestrian lights and bus stop turn left into St Michael’s Lane, signposted Headingley Stadium. The Ground is on your right-hand side.

By Rail

Emerald Headingley Stadium is around a 10-15 minute drive from Leeds City Station. A taxi should cost around £8-£10.

 

HEADINGLEY STATION

Headingley Station is on the Harrogate Line and is a 10 minute walk from the ground. Please note that the initial part of this walk is slightly uphill. Trains run half-hourly from Leeds City Station and should take around 12 minutes.

 

 

BURLEY PARK STATION

Burley Park Station is also on the Harrogate Line and is a five minute walk from the ground. Trains run half hourly and should take around five minutes. By Air

The City of Leeds has its own International Airport situated North of the city. All domestic and most European major airports can reach Leeds & Bradford International Airport.

ROAD DIRECTIONS FROM LEEDS & BRADFORD AIRPORT

Leave Airport and at roundabout turn right signposted A658 Harrogate. In 1.5 miles at traffic junction turn right onto A660 Leeds. In 3 miles cross the A6120 – Leeds Outer Ring Road. Advance forward on the A660 Leeds for 2 miles until traffic junction. At traffic lights turn right into B6157 North Lane. Follow road until next major traffic junction. Turn left into Cardigan Road. Take first turning on the right for St Michael’s Lane. Emerald Headingley Stadium is on the right.

Sustainable Travel

CYCLING

Cycling is growing across the country and we are hoping to increase the number of fans and staff who cycle to events.

With this in mind, new cycle stands have been installed at the stadium. They are located in the South Stand Car park and under the Carnegie Pavilion on the cricket stadium side of the ground which can be used on an event day only.

The UCI Road World Cycling Championships 

The UCI Road World Cycling Championships take place from 21st– 29thSeptember. There are road closures in place which may affect people travelling from the direction of Harrogate and Wetherby. I can’t attend anymore, what can I do?

  • If you are unable to attend ‘Proms on the Pitch’, tickets are non-refundable.
  • If ‘Proms on the Pitch’ is cancelled, rescheduled or has changed location, you are entitled to a full refund for the full face value of the ticket(s).
  • If ‘Proms on the Pitch’ is rescheduled to another date, your ticket(s) will be valid for this date. If you cannot attend on the re-scheduled date, you are entitled to a full refund for the full face value of the ticket(s).
  • If the face value of the ticket(s) has been discounted by Leeds Rhinos or Leeds City Centre Box Office, the refund will be for the original discounted price paid.
