Leeds Rhinos v Warrington Wolves Match Day Information

Leeds Rhinos host Warrington Wolves at Emerald Headingley Stadium in our final Betfred Super League fixture this Friday 13th September, kick off 7.45pm. The game also marks the last run out in blue and amber for two departing Rhinos, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Carl Ablett, who both retire at the end of this season. Join us to show your support for two club legends and don’t miss all the action at Emerald Headingley this Friday night.

Turnstiles open at 5.30pm with loads of great entertainment on offer before the main game, so come down early and make the most of your Friday night. Here’s everything that’s taking place this week and all the match day information you need…

20 Years Of JJB

We’ll be paying tribute to Jamie Jones-Buchanan in his final game in blue and amber this Friday, before his 20-year playing career draws to a close. Pick up your free JJB face mask around the ground before kick-off and please stick around after the final whistle for a special post-match presentation to Jonesy on the pitch. Get involved and show your support for Jonesy with #JJB20.

As well as paying tribute to JJB, we’ll also be showing our thanks for Rhinos legend Carl Ablett, who announced his retirement earlier this week. Ablett has been a Rhinos for 16 seasons and has had an incredible career. He won seven Grand Finals with the Rhinos, scoring in the 2011 and 2012 wins, as well as winning two Challenge Cups, two League Leaders Shields and two World Club Challenges, including scoring the winning try in the victory over Manly at Emerald Headingley in 2012. Please join us to show your appreciation for Carl and Jamie at the game this Friday.

How Much Are Match Tickets?

Tickets are selling really well for Friday but there are some great seats still available to purchase in the new North Stand and South Stand, as well as seats behind the posts in the Extentia Stand. Seats start from £20 juniors, £24 concessions and from £30 adults*.

If you prefer the atmosphere in the terraces, standing tickets are available in the Tetley’s South Stand Terrace, Extentia Terrace or West Terrace priced just £12 juniors, £16 concessions and £24 adults if you book before midnight on Thursday.*

Book online at tickets.therhinos.co.uk, call us on 0371 423 1315 or buy in person from the Ticket Office at Emerald Headingley. Remember if you buy online you can use the free “print at home” option to save the £1.50 booking fee.

Match Day Entertainment

Come down early and enjoy plenty of free match day entertainment all over the stadium including free face painting and balloon twisting, live music from buskers around the ground and everyone’s favourite mascot, Ronnie the Rhino, meeting and greeting fans all evening and up to his usual antics.

Pre-match we’ll have plenty going on, including a living statue in the South Stand concourse and flame performers around the pitch, plus free JJB face masks being handed out at the Ticket Office, Club Shop and around the ground. Make sure you take your seats early to catch the live performance from opera singer Laurence Robinson and a Guard of Honour to welcome JJB onto the pitch before kick-off. As well as this, we’ll be joined by JJB’s former club Stanningley for all our pre match activities.

The Kids Zone is open for free activity before kick off too, where young fans can test their skills on the rugby skills zone and meet Leeds Rhinos players for photos and signings.

As always, there will be match analysis in the South Stand concourse before the game kicks off as well as half time analysis.

At half time, on the pitch two contestants will go head to head in the hilarious Selco Builders Warehouse Half Time Challenge, you won’t want to miss it! There will also be an on-pitch presentation in honour of lifelong Rhinos Fan Mick ‘Aky’ Atkinson, who sadly took his own life in October 2018. Earlier this year, over 80 people cycled 106.6 miles to remember him and raise awareness for mental health, with the bike ride culminating in a lap of honour at Emerald Headingley before our match against Wigan back in summer. They raised over £25,000 for his chosen charities Mind and the Leeds Rhinos Foundation.

Be sure to stick around after the final whistle, as we’ll have some special post-match presentations for both Carl Ablett and Jamie Jones-Buchanan. Keeping with tradition, the first team squad will also take part in an end of season Lap of Appreciation around the pitch to show their thanks to the fans. Please note the Long Bar is open as usual after the match but there will be no post-match presentations this week.

Half Price Shirts

Our 2019 Home & Away Shirts in Men’s, Women’s and Kids are now less than half price! With it being our final home game of 2019, if you’ve not got this season’s shirt, Friday is the time to treat yourself. Bag yourself a bargain because at these prices they won’t last forever so make sure you get yours at the game on Friday. If you can’t make it to the game, why not drop by the Club Shop anytime between Monday to Saturday, 9am until 5pm or shop online at store.leedsrugby.com.

Sensory Nook Supporting SEN Fans

There is nothing we love more than the bustle and excitement of match days and the roar of Rhinos supporters cheering our team on. We do recognise however that for some fans with special needs, such as Autism, this can be a challenging experience. So, fans can now find Sensory Nook, a relaxing mobile pod, in the Extentia Café Bar on game day. Designed to reduce sensory overload within busy areas and calm and lower anxiety, Sensory Nook reduces noise levels to more tolerable levels and has a selection of sensory equipment to ensure occupants remain part of the experience but in a more manageable space.  We hope it will help our fans with disabilities, and their family and friends who support them, to attend and fully enjoy match days on equal terms with everyone else.
