War of the Roses Legends clash next up at Emerald Headingley
On Wednesday 28th August at Emerald Headingley Stadium, Legends will do battle as the War of the Roses returns with the white rose of Yorkshire facing off against the red rose of Lancashire kick off 7.30pm.
The match features stellar names from Rugby League including two of the greatest players in history Jason Robinson will finally tick the last remaining box on his incredible CV. Jason won every honour possible in Rugby League with Wigan before crossing codes and lifting the Rugby Union World Cup and going on to be the first black captain in history in the 15-man code.
Jason born in Leeds never played for Yorkshire during his league career and will meet one of his former teammates league legend Martin Offiah. Martin played for Widnes, Wigan, London, England and Great Britain breaking transfer and try scoring records making such an impact in the sport he is now immortalised with an induction into the hall of fame as well a statue outside Wembley stadium depicting the famous try against Leeds in 1994.
The game is littered with rivalries; in the pack two of the fiercest competitors will once again draw swords with Barrie McDermott (Lancashire) taking on Stuart Fielden (Yorkshire). In the halves the mercurial Sean Long will pit his wits against the live wire and Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow.
The event celebrates the careers of two great players Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Jones-Buchanan who has given 20 years service at Leeds Rhinos and former Wigan, Bradford Bulls, Saints, Huddersfield and Great Britain legend Lee Gilmour for service to Rugby League with over 480 games played.

The event features a junior festival, activities and refreshments around the ground, full corporate hospitality is available and all the legends will be on hand for pictures and autographs pre and post match.
