Junior Takeover Day
Our fourth annual Junior Takeover Day is set to take place this Sunday, with a selection of young fans taking over Emerald Headingley in a variety of match day roles. From groundsmen to Chief Executive, look out for the juniors all over the stadium on match day pulling the ropes and learning how a Super League fixture is run at Emerald Headingley.
Great Entertainment Around The Ground
There is loads of free entertainment taking place around the ground on Sunday to make it a great family fun day at Emerald Headingley. Look out for a free caricature artist, a selfie booth, football freestyle performer Ben Nuttall, ‘Meet Pete’ the roaming T-Rex dinosaur, Meet-A-Creature creepy-crawlie and animal workshop and live music from buskers in various areas of the stadium. As always, everyone’s favourite mascot, Ronnie the Rhino, will be up to his usual antics and meeting and greeting fans.
There will be interviews, entertainment and match analysis in the South Stand concourse pre match, half time and after the final whistle – host Matt Horton will be joined by a special guest this week with a Junior South Stand Host taking to the stage!
Finally, at half time our Junior Rhinestones will be performing on the Emerald Headingley pitch.
Yorkshire Cancer Research
Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s charity partner, Yorkshire Cancer Research, will be joining us at Sunday’s game. Look out for volunteers giving out free sunscreen and free sun awareness wristbands to help fans stay safe in the sun this summer. Be sure to drop by their information hubs located around the ground. The charity are urging fans to remember ‘if in doubt check it out’. Remember if you experience any unexplained changes to your body, tell your doctor. Sensory Nook is Supporting Leeds Rhinos SEN Fans this July
There is nothing we love more than the bustle and excitement of match days and the roar of Rhinos supporters cheering our team on. We do recognise however that for some fans with special needs such as Autism this can be a challenging experience, so we invited Sensory Nook to come along on game day. Sensory Nook is a relaxing mobile pod that reduces noise levels to more tolerable levels and has a selection of sensory equipment designed to calm and lower anxiety. Sensory Nook reduces sensory overload within busy areas, so occupants remain part of the experience but in a more manageable space. We hope it will help our fans with disabilities, and their family and friends who support them, to attend and fully enjoy match days on equal terms with everyone else. You will find the Sensory Nook in the Extentia Café Bar – do try it out and let us know how it works for you.
Have a Look Around The Concourses
All fans are welcome to look around the North Stand and South Stand concourses on match day – even if you don’t have a valid ticket for that stand. Enter the concourses to enjoy pre match entertainment, refreshments and check out the amazing new facilities. Tickets will be checked on entry through the vomitories to the stands, so please note that there is no access to the seats (North or South Stand) or to the South Stand Terrace without a valid match ticket for that area.
