Red Devils Parachute Jump Rescheduled For This Friday

We’re delighted to announce that last month’s parachute jump has been rescheduled and the Red Devils Parachute Freefall Team are set to join us at Emerald Headingley Stadium this Friday night ahead of our huge Betfred Super League clash with Hull KR, kick off 7.45pm.

The Red Devils were due to parachute into Emerald Headingley at last month’s home game against Catalans Dragons on the club’s Annual Armed Forces Day fixture, however due to forecasted wind speeds expected at the designated jump time, regretfully the jump could not go ahead as planned due to safety concerns.

We’d like to thank the Red Devils Parachute Freefall Team for their cooperation over the past few weeks in a combined effort to re-arrange the jump. Always one of the most popular match day spectacles amongst the fans, the Red Devils parachute jump is now set to take place, weather permitting, this Friday 12th July with the Red Devils landing on the pitch just minutes before kick off ready to welcome the teams.

Formed in 1964, the Red Devils are the official parachute display team of the British Army and The Parachute Regiment. The team of professional skydivers is made up of 15 full time serving paratroopers and perform over 350 tandem parachute descents and 60 public displays each year in the UK, including charity, military and sporting events.

Emergency Services Cup

With turnstiles opening at 5.15pm, Emerald Headingley is set to be a hive of activity this Friday night. Ahead of the main game, fans can come down early to watch the Emergency Services Cup as West Yorkshire Police take on West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service in a curtain raiser that kicks off at 5.30pm.

As always there will be pre match analysis in the South Stand concourse, free family entertainment in the Kids Zone (in the cricket East Stand) and live music from buskers around the ground. Ronnie the Rhino will be meeting and greeting fans around the ground before making his famous entrance with his lucky mascot, and there will be half time fun from Nando’s in a kicking contest with some fantastic Nando’s prizes up for grabs.
