The Clash 2 – Matchday fans information
Take your place in history this Thursday 16thMay for the official opening of the new North Stand at Emerald Headingley Stadium following the incredible £45m re-development. Leeds Rhinos host Castleford Tigers in The Clash, marking game 2 of the tri-series of Betfred Super League meetings between the two sides this year. Kick off is 7.45pm on Thursday although you’ll want to get in early for a whole host of pre match celebrations with turnstiles opening at 5.30pm. Keep reading for all your match day information…
Take Your Place For The Pre Match Show
Entertainment on the Emerald Headingley pitch will commence at 6.45pm so take your place early to enjoy all the celebrations.
The Rock Choir will be performing from 6.45pm, followed by live music performances from singer Jay Irving. As we edge closer to kick off, there will be a special pre match show including fireworks, pyros and giant flag displays, sure to help build the match day atmosphere! Finally, to welcome the teams onto the pitch, we’re delighted to be joined by operatic soprano Sarah Fox who will be performing “Land of Hope and Glory”.
Please note that during the match day entertainment (pre, half time and post match) there may be occasional use of pyrotechnics, special effects and flash photography used.
Free Souvenir Flags
To mark the special occasion on Thursday, all fans can claim a free souvenir flag before kick off. If you’ve got a Season Membership or a match ticket in a seated area of the ground your flag will be on your seat for you ready for your arrival.
If you’ve got a Season Membership or a match ticket in any of the standing areas you can collect your free flag from helpers around the ground in the concourses before taking to the terraces.
Free GIANT Konrad Hurrell poster with this week’s edition of Blue & Amber
Make sure you get your hands on this week’s special edition of Blue & Amber to celebrate the first game of the new North Stand. As well as the usual great content, for this game we are also giving away a free GIANT Konrad Hurrell poster with every copy. The programme is still just £3 and available from sellers around the ground including from this week the ISC Retail unit in the South Stand.
Try Out The New Seats
With modern seating, better legroom and uninterrupted views of the pitch, the North Stand holds some of the best seats in the house. This is the perfect chance to try out the new seats following the re-development and be the first fans to experience match day in the new North Stand.
South Stand are also available to purchase for this game. If you haven’t tried the South Stand match day yet this is a great chance to explore the brilliant facilities on offer in the South Stand, including the giant video walls, entertainment podium and pre match analysis in the South Stand concourse.
Seated tickets start from £20 for juniors, from £25 for concessions* and from £32 for adults.
Have a Look Around The Concourses
All fans are welcome to look around the new North Stand concourse (and the South Stand concourse if you haven’t seen it already) on match day – even if you don’t have a valid ticket for that stand.
All fans are invited to enter the concourses to enjoy pre match entertainment, refreshments and check out the amazing new facilities. Tickets will be checked on entry through the vomitories to the stands, so please note that there is no access to the seats (North or South Stand) or to the South Stand Terrace without a valid match ticket for that area.
North Stand Access Information
If you have a Season Membership or valid match ticket in the North Stand, you can access the ground via the St Michael’s Lane Turnstiles (Gate B) or Kirkstall Lane Turnstiles (Gate G). Please note you cannot use the South Stand Turnstiles (Gate E).
To access the North Stand, you will enter the stand at ground floor level (at either end) and go underneath the stand which is the main access route in and out of the stand. There are two staircases in the centre and a lift at each end of the ground floor to access the first-floor concourse. Please note there is no longer access across the front of the North Stand.
All bars and toilets for supporters are situated on the first floor and you will access the seated area from this concourse – directional signage with a range of seat numbers will indicate which vomitory you should use. You will enter the seated area at row K. Stairs lead to all rows and the rows range from row A (front of the seated area) to row U (back of the seated area). Only supporters who have cards or match tickets for the seats on row A can use the walkway in front of the seats.
South Stand Access Information
If you have a Season Membership or valid match ticket in the South Stand, we recommend using either the South Stand Turnstiles (Gate E) or St Michael’s Lane Turnstiles (Gate B).
You can enter the stadium via the Kirkstall Lane Turnstiles (Gate G) however you will be required to walk round the stadium underneath the Cricket concourse to the St Michael’s Lane side of the stadium and round the back of the Extentia Stand to access the South Stand. Please note there is no access via the Western Terrace.
Further Turnstile & Access Information
Remember only South Stand Season Members and match ticket holders can use the South Stand turnstiles whilst the St Michael’s Lane and Kirkstall Lane turnstiles allow access for all members cards andmatch tickets as well as cash turnstiles for entry to the Extentia Terrace and West Terrace.
If you need to collect your tickets on match day please head to the collections point at the Ticket Office (entrance is street side on St Michael’s Lane).
Bag searches are in operation at all turnstiles & bags must not be larger than an A4 piece of paper in size. Please note that all cards and tickets will be checked upon entry into the stands and if you have any issues with your match day experience please text our fans phone on 07500 312 832.

Entertainment Around The Ground
Look out for everyone’s favourite mascot, Ronnie the Rhino, entertaining fans around the ground on Thursday. We’ll also be selecting the captain mascot for the next home game in Ronnie’s Raffle – look out for the video announcement on the big screen at half time.
Enjoy live music around the ground from our buskers who will be entertaining fans in the North Stand concourse, South Stand concourse, Long Bar, Café Bar and on Amber Avenue before kick off and check out the selfie booth in the North Stand concourse for free photo opportunities.
There will be the usual match analysis in the South Stand concourse with Rhinos legend Brett Delaney pre match, half time and after the final whistle and stick around after the match and enjoy discounts of up to £1 off all draught products in the South Stand concourse bars.
Visit The Kids Zone
Located underneath the Long Bar, the Kids Zone is the perfect place to entertain young Rhinos fans in a safe environment upon arrival at Emerald Headingley Stadium. Young Rhinos fans can look forward to a whole host of free activities and entertainment in the Kids Zone at every home game including free face painting, balloon twisting, a DJ and disco, a visit from Ronnie the Rhino and skills and drills from qualified Leeds Rhinos Foundation staff including the inflatable passing skill zone! Find the new Kids Zone in the cricket nets in the cricket East Stand; the entrance is located near the St Michael’s Lane turnstiles.

Can I Pay On The Day?
If you miss the advance ticket deadline you can come along on match night & pay cash on the day at the St Michael’s Lane or Kirkstall Lane turnstiles for standing entry to the Extentia Terrace or West Terrace. Please note there are no cash turnstiles at the South Stand.
If you’d like to purchase any available seating or standing tickets in the South Stand Terrace on game day you can do so from the Ticket Office on St Michael’s Lane (entrance is street side) right up until kick off (subject to availability).
Finally, if you are already in the ground and fancy upgrading your ticket to any available seating, you can do so at the Ticket Office transfer windows once you are inside the ground.
Fancy A Pint?
Enjoy a pint on match day with our reusable cups. Available on all bars in the stadium (with the exception of the Long Bar), the cups are just £1 deposit and there are 3 heritage designs, featuring images of ex-players and club legends through the years, as well as classic Rhinos blue and amber designs. At the end of the night, keep your cup as a souvenir or return it to the bar to claim your deposit! Fans can also stick around after the match and enjoy discounts of up to £1 off on all draught products in the South Stand concourse bars. All our bars accept cash, credit/debit card, contactless payment and apple/android pay.
Please note that the Long Bar is open for all fans pre match but is open exclusively for Gold Members at full time.
