Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Dave Furner has confirmed that forward Stevie Ward will be sidelined for 10-12 weeks following knee surgery however there is good news for skipper Kallum Watkins and Furner also gives an update on Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Dom Crosby as they look to return to action.

Ward suffered the injury in the Rhinos narrow 27-22 defeat at St Helens a fortnight ago and had surgery last Friday to discover the extent of the injury.

Commenting on the news, Furner said, “Stevie is going to be longer than we first hoped but the process has been started to make sure, long term, that Stevie’s knee is right. The surgeon was very confident that he could repair the damage and Stevie will be working hard to get back ready to go for the team.”
