Leeds Rhinos launch membership campaign for 2019

Leeds Rhinos fans will get their chance to book their place in history in 2019 with memberships for the new season now available, including for the new South Stand seated areas and the newly developed North Stand.
With the stadium back to full capacity from May 2019, the Rhinos have also brought back the family discount allowing adult family members the chance to gain discount on their own memberships when buying junior members as a package. This 15% discount applies to a minimum of three memberships, which must be made up of adults and juniors, and has been extended to all areas of the stadium. This discount will mean that families buying terrace memberships, for example, will pay less in 2019 than in previous years.
With the North Stand not due to be fully opened until May 2019 as part of the £45 million redevelopment of Emerald Headingley, current North Stand members have been given the first opportunity to purchase seats in the new South Stand with the option of remaining in the stand for the full 2019 season or choosing a new position in the North Stand on completion.
South Stand standing members will be able to register to have first priority to purchase South Stand seats and we will contact these members as and when positions in the South Stand seats become available, this process will begin post 3rd November renewal deadline and will continue into the start of the 2019 season depending on uptake from our current North Stand members. This will be done by a waiting list for standing members who have renewed for 2019 and will be done on a first come, first served basis. There are also other waiting lists available for season members in other areas of the ground to move positions to other stands plus any new members who sign up for 2019. There are varying levels of priority and each list will be dealt with in chronological order.
Having frozen membership prices for the previous four seasons, there is an increase on areas following the huge improvements to the stadium and matchday experience however the club have also taken the unprecedented step of reducing Western Terrace memberships for 2019. Plus, the club is offering fans the opportunity to spread the cost of their membership with interest free payments, initially over 11 months, meaning a South Stand adult terrace member will pay less than £23 per month for their membership.
Commenting on the membership campaign, Head of Customer Experience Sian Jones said, “Firstly, we would like to thank all our members for their patience over the last year. It has been exciting to see the new stands emerge and the co-operation we have received from our members during that period has been fantastic and is very much appreciated. This is the biggest transition in the stadium’s history since the 1930s and we have worked hard to try and find the best possible solution for all our members. I would like to thank our Supporters Board who have helped devise the membership scheme for this season and whose advice on behalf of their fellow fans has been extremely useful.
“I know from speaking to fans young and old, how excited everyone is to get into the new facilities. In the old North Stand, we had members who had been in the same position as generations of their family previously and now our 2019 members have the unique opportunity to say ‘I was the first member’ in a particular seat. The thought that they have secured seats with their friends and family for the future is something we have spoken about with our fans during the development process,” added Jones.
Leeds Rhinos Director of Rugby Kevin Sinfield believes the redevelopment of the stadium for 2019 offers his club an incredible opportunity. He commented, “It was my privilege earlier this year to return home to my club and be part of Leeds Rhinos once again. When you look around Emerald Headingley Stadium you can not help but be excited about the future for the club. In recent years we have seen a number of our rivals move to new stadiums which has undoubtedly brought our sport into the modern era however here at the Rhinos, we should be proud that, through careful planning by our Board of Directors, we have been able to develop our home and create a legacy that will ensure rugby is played here for another century.
“I believe the new look Emerald Headingley allows not only the team but our entire club to fulfil our potential as an international sporting venue that can attract the best players and help retain our greatest talent,” added Sinfield.
The Rhinos have brought back the popular ‘Bring a friend for free’ benefit for members on selected games so they can introduce a friend or relative to the new look Emerald Headingley Stadium and help spread the word about their club. The Buy Back scheme is retained from the 2018 season, allowing fans to earn credits for future games if they are unable to attend a particular match and the club can re-sell their seat.
Junior memberships start from just £50, which includes all Super League games home and away excluding the Magic Weekend. Adult memberships start from £150 and fans will once again be able to spread the cost of their membership with monthly interest free payments.
