Featherstone name side for Rhinos visit

Featherstone head coach Jon Sharp has named a strong squad ahead of the Rovers’ final pre-season outing against Leeds Rhinos, this Friday, at The Big Fellas Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm).

Sharp's men remain unbeaten and are looking to finish their pre-season campaign with a perfect record, having already defeated Wakefield, York, Halifax and Hunslet in recent weeks.

Having last Sunday overcome Wakefield, running out 28-20 victors on home soil, Leeds arrive as a second top-flight opponent in the space of only five days.

Leeds have named a star-studded line-up ahead of the January 27 encounter, with Tom Briscoe, Kallum Watkins, Ryan Hall, Rob Burrow, new signing Matt Parcell, Mitch Garbutt and Stevie Ward all set to feature, in addition to a host of other first-team regulars.

And Rovers boss Sharp is not holding back either, with Frankie Mariano returning to Featherstone action.
Cory Aston and Jack Ormondroyd will not feature against their parent club, though, and have been removed from the pre-match line-up.

The Rovers' 20-man squad: Andy Bostock, Anthony Thackeray, Brad Tagg, Chris Ulugia, Darrel Griffin, Frankie Mariano, Ian Hardman, Jason Walton, John Davies, Josh Hardcastle, Keal Carlile, Kyle Briggs, Kyran Johnson, Luke Briscoe, Luke Cooper, Matty Wildie, Michael Knowles, Richard Moore, Sam Day, Scott Turner.

Supporters wishing to travel to Friday's game by train are advised of a train leaving Wakefield at 6.33pm, arriving in Featherstone inside 15 minutes. The final train to depart Featherstone to Wakefield, on Friday, is at 10.45pm, arriving in Leeds, via Wakefield before 11.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £15 (adults), £10 (concessions) and £5 (juniors) and are available in store and online at www.therhinos.co.uk/buytickets.

A BIG thanks to Lewis, Dan and Leon, who have helped Rovers' head groundsman, Chris Drury, lay sheets ahead of Friday's big game! #RLFamily pic.twitter.com/gpMOTOZZVp
