Media day proves a big hit

The club’s official 2017 team photo and annual media day ahead of the new Betfred Super League season took place at Headingley Carnegie today with new signing Matt Parcell also officially unveiled.
The whole 30 man first team squad were present for the afternoon which started with the team photo at 1.30pm. There were eight team photos with various combinations of players and backroom team plus we were pleased to welcome Peter Hill, Chief Executive of our main club partners Leeds Building Society, for the photo along with competition winner 12-year-old Thaireyse Brook, who won the prize as part of the Take Your Pick competition we ran in the Long Bar after home games last season.

Once the photos were completed, Brian McDermott and Matt Parcell headed to the official press conference to welcome the hooker to the club which was streamed live on Facebook Live with both speaking for 25 minutes before we moved onto the next stage of the afternoon.

The players then did 44 interviews with members of the media previewing the new season and also had studio photos with Super League’s official photographers whilst we also did some green screen filming with the squad for some exciting new graphics we have planned for social media, the website and on the big screen on match nights.

The squad also did question and answer sessions with Rugby AM and for our own website, with players having to answer as many questions as possible within 60 seconds with Sam Hallas particularly impressive!
Rhinos stars Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Rob Burrow were also on Facebook Live for Super League’s official website during the afternoon.
