Burrow looking forward to seventeenth campaign

Leeds Rhinos star Rob Burrow says he still enjoys the challenge of pre-season as he looks ahead to his seventeenth Super League season.

Burrow made his Rhinos debut back in 2001 but showed he still has plenty to offer last season as he was named the club's Player of the Season. He says the Rhinos plans for next season are coming together and the intensity levels have picked up since Christmas. He told us, "Training is going well, there is a great feeling within the camp and things have lifted up a gear since Christmas. The break came at a good time for us, the lads have been working incredibly hard and the coaching staff have been pushing us. Everyone has come back refreshed and ready to go again as we focus on the start of the season.

"I wasn't involved on Boxing Day but speaking to the lads who were, they were disappointed with the performance. They were desperate to put in a good showing after all the hard work but it didn't happen for us on the day; that happens some time. The lads don't need to get too down on themselves and remain focused on the big picture," added Burrow.
