Ronnie going for glory at the World's largest mascot race on Sunday

The Mascot Gold Cup, sponsored by Foresters, takes place this Sunday at Wetherby races family day meeting and our very own Ronnie the Rhino will be going for glory.

The Sue Ryder organised event broke the official Guinness World Record last year for most number of mascots in a race and whilst numbers are lower this year fur will still fly as mascots run the last furlong and hurdle, trip or fall over 6 fences in front of a packed grandstand.
Ronnie is excited to be running in the world’s largest mascot race again this year, having won first place ‘pro mascot’ in 2015!
Sue Ryder event lead Andrew Wood said, “We are delighted to have Ronnie represented in the race which has raised over £170,000 for good causes in its 10 year history and provided numerous hilarious moments.”
Other notable mascots who will provide opposition for Ronnie include the Silentnight Hippo running with Rooms Furniture store of Keighley, and Bradford City Mascot Billy Bantam.
Main sponsors Foresters, the international financial services provider, will be helping with the predict the winner competition where members of the Wetherby crowd can back their favourites.
