Champions Leeds Rhinos are heading for a record level of memberships with just nine days to go until the season opener against Warrington Wolves at Headingley Carnegie on Thursday 4th February.
The Rhinos, who are already the best supported team in Super League, have attracted over 1,000 new members since the memberships were launched last July. Over 9,000 memberships have already been sold with a renewal rate of 86% from last season, an increase of 9% on the previous year.
The club have offered supporters the chance to spread the cost of their membership with interest free payments, which has proved popular, whilst junior members have been quick to snap up their tickets from just £45 which includes entry to all Super League games home and away.
Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive Gary Hetherington commented, “We now have over 9,000 ticketed members and we are working towards our target of 10,000 members for the new season.
“That has been our aim for the last several years, to grow our membership to over 10,000 people with tickets.
“We have already sold more ticketed memberships for the coming season than we had for the whole of last year, so there are positive signs.
“We have had more than 10,000 members before, but you have to go back to the 2005 season. It will be the first time in more than 10 years we have reached that figure if the current trend continues until the start of the season,” added Hetherington
The Rhinos have frozen the prices for season tickets from last season and fans can buy their memberships right up until the opening game of the season on Thursday 4th February to get maximum benefit from their memberships.
The club have implemented a new ticketing system during the close season which has presented a number of technical challenges for the Customer Experience team. However, all memberships have now been sent out and all World Club Challenge tickets will be dispatched following the first game of the season, a fortnight in advance of the clash with the North Queensland Cowboys on Sunday 21st February.
Head of Customer Experience Sian Jones said, “We would like to thank all our customers for their patience whilst the new ticketing system was implemented. It has meant the membership packs have gone out later than they usually do. Anyone who has any problems with their memberships can email us at email@example.com and we will look to rectify the issue.”
