England star Hall ruled out for four weeks

Leeds Rhinos and England star Ryan Hall has been ruled out for four weeks however scans have revealed he does not need an operation on his hand that would have put him on the sidelines for up to four months.

Hall saw a specialist this week and, with no need for surgery, his hand has been put in plaster to allow a fracture in his hand to heal over the next month.

Head Coach Brian McDermott commented, “It is a massive shame for Ryan and a big blow to us but we have dealt with and handled injuries well in the past and I am sure this will only serve to provide an opening for another of our hungry and keen academy products that have a huge desire to play for Leeds Rhinos first team.

“Ryan will be out for four weeks. That is not enough time to get unfit but long enough to lose his sharpness if we don't manage that time well. He will keep fit and strong under the supervision of Jason Davidson and I am sure this will be beneficial to Ryan in the long run given he did not have as long a pre-season as the rest of the group because of his commitments with England,” added McDermott.
