Loan duo out to impress on Friday night

The visit to Headingley Carnegie on Friday night will be special for two London Broncos players. Alex Foster, 20, and Thomas Minns, 19, grew up in Leeds, joined the Rhinos as youngsters and made their first team debuts for the club last season.

Along with James Duckworth, 19, who is currently on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, all three moved down to London to play for the Broncos in 2014. So will they be walking into the home dressing room tomorrow night at Headingley?

“I’ve already been asked this,” said back rower Alex. “Knowing me, I’ll make for the home changing room and not know a thing about it!

“I’m really looking forward to playing at Headingley in front of all those fans, it’s something you really enjoy and I’m sure all the rest of the London boys will be saying the same. Going to that place will be awesome, especially for us against the club we’ve been at for the last few years, we’re certainly excited.”

Along with Alex, Thomas has played every game so far for the Bronco and the centre has scored tries in his last two outings: “I’m excited to get out there at Headingley,” he said.” I’m sure the fans will pack out the stadium. The Leeds fans are very supportive, especially with us being down here on loan. I’m excited and ready to rip in, it will be really good.”

And with the game being live on Sky Sports has there been any special preparation? “Yes,” said Thomas, “Fozzie’s had about 15 haircuts to prepare for it!”
