Wolves pick Rhinos in clubcall

Warrington Wolves have chosen to play Leeds Rhinos in the Grand Final semi final next Friday at the Halliwell Jones.

Warrington Chairman Steven Broomhead made the call live on Sky Sports and said that the fact that Leeds had to fight off a fightback from Huddersfield on Friday night was part of the decision. He said, "Leeds are going well but no one will fancy playing Warrington away from home. We have played massively entertaining rugby this season having scored on average 40 points a game and only conceded 14 on average. The last 15 minutes on Friday night told us the nature of Leeds going forward in the future."

Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Brian McDermott said he thought the Wolves will have thought hard about their decision. He comented, "I don't think it was a straight forward decision and I'm sure there was some consideration about whether to pick us or Wigan. If you had made the call eight weeks ago it might have been an easier one. it is going to be massive game for both teams on Friday night."

The game will take place Friday 30th September, kick off 8pm at Halliwell Jones Stadium.
