Bailey successful with suspension appeal
Leeds prop forward Ryan Bailey has been cleared to play in Friday’s Super League preliminary semi-final against Huddersfield after successfully overturning a one-match ban.
The 27-year-old Bailey was suspended by the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee for using his knees in a tackle on Hull second rower Danny Tickle during his side's 42-10 play-off win on Sunday but won his appeal this evening.
Leeds coach Brian McDermott, who spoke at the appeal hearing, is delighted to have the services of Bailey, who has appeared in all but one of his side's last 18 matches and has re-discovered the form that earned him four caps for Great Britain in 2004.
"I think he's been brilliant," he said. "He's probably playing the best he has for a long while."
