McGuire honoured by milestone
Leeds Rhinos star Danny McGuire said he was honoured to score his 200th try for the club and so become only the fifth player in the club’s history to reach the milestone.
McGuire scored the Rhinos penultimate try in the 42-10 win over Hull FC in the Play Off Elimination game and he admitted to Rhinos TV after the game that he was honoured to reach the double century. He said, "It is incredible really, I am very fortunate to be part of an incredible team. The important thing tonight was to get the win and continue on in the play offs but it was nice to go over for my 200th try here at Headingley Carnegie."
McGuire also admitted that his focus has now turned to his second love, Leeds United, and their big clash with rivals Manchester United on Tuesday night at Elland Road. He revealed, "I have managed to get a ticket so I will be down there cheering them on. It is a few years since they have been to Elland Road, since our days in the Premiership, so it should be a special night."
