Leeds Unites to Show Support for Charity Walk

Players from Leeds Rhinos and Leeds United swapped their boots for heels to get behind this year’s annual High Heel-a-thon which will be held on 25th September in aid of breast cancer support centre, The Haven, and Sue Ryder hospices and care centres.

Rhino’s stars Weller Hauraki, Carl Ablett and Ryan Hall stepped into stilettos, while LUFC players posed in pink to help promote the charity totter which takes place at the Gateway complex on East Street.

On Sunday 25th September women and intrepid men from across Yorkshire will be donning killer heels for the annual High Heel-a-thon. The event comprises a one mile saunter around Leeds city centre, followed by an afternoon of entertainment.

The individual entrance fee for 2011 will be just £15 (£10 for students and concessions). Teams, like the Mighty Whites and the Rhinos, are being encouraged to take part this year. Entrants are asked toraise as much sponsorship money as possible for The Haven and Sue Ryder.
