Community team help grassroots coaches

Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Brian McDermott and Head of Youth Development Barrie McDermott were on hand this week to pass on tips to 33 community club coaches at the Rhinos training ground at Kirkstall.

As part of the Leeds Rugby Foundations all year round coach education programme, the coaches attended this months workshop entitled winning the ruck, with offence and defence. The activities included group planning and discussion on best practices on the subject of winning the ruck. The workshop promotes networking and attendance of such workshop can now revalidate the coaches qualifications and keeps them current for their continued professional development.

The course was organised and run by Sam Horner, the Leeds Rhinos community development officer and Andrew Hauge, the course facilitator, who works closely with Ayden Walker.

6th June Brian McDermott – Master class offensive strategies, coaches coaching 15 + age groups.

25th June Annual coaching workshop, all skills, all coaches welcome.

2nd July 2nd annual coaching workshop, all skills, all coaches welcome.

25th July Brian McDermott – Master class defensive strategies, coaches coaching 15 + age groups.
