Hull Cup game to be shown live on BBC

The RFL and BBC have announced that the Rhinos Carnegie Challenge Cup Quarter Final at Hull FC will be shown live on BBC2 on Sunday 24th July, kick off 3.30pm.

The mouth-watering quarter-final tie between Carnegie Challenge Cup holders Warrington Wolves and Engage Super League champions Wigan Warriors will be screened live on BBC Television on Saturday July 23.

Warrington, who are bidding to retain Rugby League’s most coveted trophy for a third successive season, will continue their defence on BBC2 in a match which kicks off at 4.30pm.

The other two Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-finals will both kick off on the afternoon of Sunday July 24.

St Helens, who have reached the semi-final stage of the sport’s oldest and most prestigious knockout competition in each of the last 10 years, will play Hull Kingston Rovers at Stobart Stadium Halton in a 3.00pm kick off.

Castleford, who last won the Cup 25 years ago, face 2009 finalists Huddersfield Giants at PROBIZ Coliseum on Sunday at 3.30pm.

Bumper crowds are expected at all four quarter-finals, which take place after encouraging attendances were recorded at the fifth round stage of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.

The aggregate attendance of 35,596 for last weekend’s matches was the highest total in the fifth round since 2005, when the combined attendance of 41,002 was boosted by a bumper crowd of 11,350 at the KC Stadium to see Millennium Stadium-bound Hull FC beat Bradford Bulls.

Tickets for the 2011 Carnegie Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 27 costs from £21 to £76 and are selling fast. Last year’s final was a sell-out and fans are advised to move quickly to secure their seat at the historic showpiece final. To book tickets call 0844 856 1113 or visit
