Massive night planned for 50th anniversary

Fans will be treated to a special night of nostalgia this Friday night when the Rhinos take on Warrington including a limited edition of Blue & Amber which will include a copy of the 1961 Championship programme.

The surviving members of the 1961 Championship winning squad will be present and will take part in a special parade on the pitch at half time along with the Championship trophy. This will include ‘The Flying Dentist’ Wilf Rosenberg who has flown in from his home in Israel along with legendary full back Ken Thornett, who has arrived from Australia.

As a special memento of this special occasion, each edition of Blue & Amber, the official matchday magazine will come with a replica of the 1961 original matchday programme from the final at Odsal. Original copies of the programme were kindly loaned to the club by supporters Mel Reuben and Geoffrey Craven and have been reproduced, including the signatures of the entire Leeds squad from the day. Please note these are a strictly limited edition and once sold out on the night will not be reproduced. You can order your copy now by clicking here to make sure that don’t miss out.

To kick the night off with a sixties feel we have a performance from the Kounterfeit Kinks. They are much more than a band playing the music of The Kinks. The bands aim is to recreate as closely as possible the sounds and styles of the classic era Kinks from 1964-1970 Aunthentic outfits and instruments help recapture the 1960s Kinks live experience. Playing all the Kinks classics You Really Got Me, Waterloo Sunset, Lola, Sunny Afternoon, Dedicated Follower of fashion to name but a few.

The Kounterfeit Kinks have been wowing audiences all over the UK and Europe. Short of getting in a time machine this is as close to a real 1960's Kinks concert as you'll get. For more info visit
