Leeds Rhinos are once, twice, three times the Champions

Leeds Rhinos fans are being given a fantastic opportunity to get their hands on the Super League trophy this Friday, 16th October, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the home of the team’s main sponsors, Leeds Building Society.

The trophy will be on display for members of the public to have their photograph taken with during this two hour period at the Society’s Head Office Branch at 105 Albion Street, Leeds, LS1 5AS.

In addition, Leeds Building Society will take the photographs of people holding the trophy, record their details and then send them a 7×5 photo in the post. The Society will also e-mail the photographs out if that is the preferred option.

This Friday, 16th October, is also ‘Change Leeds Day,’ with people invited to make a change to their lives that can also change the city for the better. A special Leeds Building Society account has been created for this and members of the public can make a donation while they are at the Leeds Building Society Head Office Branch on Friday to see the Super League trophy. All proceeds raised go into a new City of Leeds Fund, which will distribute cash annually to community groups active in the city.

The Leeds Rhinos won the Super League trophy in a tense and absorbing Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday by beating St Helens 18-10. This meant they have ‘three-peated’ their success by becoming the first team to win the Super League title three years in a row, during the 2007, 2008 and now the 2009 season. These three years coincided with the first three years of Leeds Building Society being the main club sponsors of the Rhinos. This deal was extended last week for another three years to cover the 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Jackie Hart, Leeds Building Society Head Office Branch Manager said, "The Grand Final on Saturday night at Old Trafford was a momentous occasion. The match was an attritional armwrestle with the Rhinos holding on for historic success. We are delighted to offer people this opportunity to get their hands on the Super League trophy now. They are amongst the first to have this chance, and get themselves photographed alongside it. We will have staff on hand in the Branch to take these photographs, and we will then also organise getting them processed and sent out, either via a 7×5 version in the post or through e-mail.

"I would encourage as many people as possible to come down between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday and sample the great atmosphere in the Branch as we celebrate an historic success. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in all the Change Leeds Day fun, which Leeds Building Society is one of the founding partners of."
