McClennan names unchanged 19 man squad

Brian McClennan has named an unchanged 19 man squad for the engage Super League Grand Final this Saturday at Old Trafford, kick off 6pm.

As well as the 17 who were on duty against Catalans Dragons last Friday at Headingley Carnegie, Ali Lauitiiti returns to the squad after overcoming a virus as well as Kallum Watkins.

The only players missing from the 19 man squad who played in last year’s successful Grand Final are Gareth Ellis and Nick Scruton, who left the club at the end of the season to join Wests Tigers and Bradford Bulls respectively.

The four players in the 19 man squad who were not involved in last year’s Grand Final at Brent Webb. Luke Burgess, Simon Worrall and Kallum Watkins.

This Saturday’s game will be Lee Smith’s 102nd and last appearance for the Rhinos before he switches codes to join London Wasps. He has scored 49 tries since making his debut in March 2005.

This will be the Rhinos fifth Grand Final appearance in six years. Seven of the 19 man squad will have appeared in all five Grand Finals if selected this week. Kevin Snifield, Danny McGuire, Matt Diskin, Ryan Bailey, Ali Lauitiiti, Rob Burrow and Jamie Jones-Buchanan whilst Keith Senior has appeared in the wins in 2004, 2007 and 2008 but missed the loss to Bradford in 2005.
