Rhinos aiming for Carnegie Nines glory

Leeds Rhinos have named an exciting, young squad for the Carnegie Nines at Headingley Carnegie on Wednesday night as they look to lift the floodlit trophy.

The team will be coached by Willie Poching and will include recent signings Michael Coady from Doncaster and Jay Pitts from Wakefield. Eight of the ten players named in the squad has played in Super League with exciting winger Jamel Chisholm and Coady the only exceptions.

The squad has made a combined total of 115 Super League appearances with Ashley Gibson the most experienced. Simon Worrall will captain the side whilst the Rhinos fans will also get to see familiar names Kallum Watkins, Michael Ratu and Dane Manning, who have played in Super League this year.

The Rhinos take on Carnegie Challenge Cup Finalists Warrington Wolves in their first game kick off 7.50pm. The tournament gets underway at 4.30pm when Leeds Met University take on Jamaica. Admission is £10 for adults and £5 for concessions but U16s go free. You can pay on the night at the turnstile with admission also including watching the Rugby League’s Fastest Man competition.
