Hall delighted with five try haul
Ryan Hall could barely conceal his delight after his stunning five-try haul helped Leeds destroy neighbours Castleford in a 14-try romp which moved them level on points with leaders St Helens.
The England wing, 21, claimed a first-half hat-trick and then raced from inside his own half for a brilliant fourth try on the hour mark before claiming his fifth with five minutes remaining in a 76-12 thrashing.
Australian wing Scott Donald, full-back Brent Webb (two), Lee Smith, Kylie Leuluai, Rob Burrow, Jamie Peacock, Michael Ratu and Ali Lauitiiti were also on target as the reigning champions sent out an emphatic reminder of their class.
Hall said: "That was my first senior hat-trick.
"It’s good to get three, never mind five.
"I’ve got a couple of braces this year but it was good to get this many under my belt."
Hall now has 26 tries for the season in all competitions but has yet to reach his personal target.
"I’m keeping that figure to myself, but wait until the end of the year and I’ll tell if I’ve got it," he added, before paying tribute to evergreen centre Keith Senior.
Senior has provided the ammunition for so many of Hall’s tries this season and he was again on hand with a number of assists down the left channel.
Hall added: "I’ve been saying all season that it’s a real pleasure to play outside Keith when I’m at such a young age and he’s as experienced as he is.
"I’ve learned a great deal from him this year and hopefully I can continue to learn from him.
"I do thank Keith personally quite often and especially tonight."
