RESERVES WILL HAVE TO DO IT THE HARD WAY

Having led the Reserve Academy for the majority of the season, the Rhinos found themselves in third place in the final table after suffering a crushing defeat at Wigan last Saturday. The Rhinos lost out 38-16 to a rampant Wigan side but the game was over by half time after the home team ran out to a 24-0 lead. Leeds had gone into the final round of the season in top spot, ahead of St Helens on points difference. However, they now face three sudden death games to reach the Grand Final after Saints finished top and Wigan leapfrogged the Rhinos into second spot. Ben Collins, Gareth Moore and Paul McShane all crossed for the Rhinos after the break with Simon Brown kicking two goals but it was a damage limitation exercise by that stage. Leeds will now face either Warrington or Huddersfield at home in the first Elimination Play Off. Warrington have one game remaining at Bradford on Thursday. If they win that, they will go above Huddersfield into fifth spot and send the Giants to face the Rhinos.
