In this week’s edition of Headingley Carnegie Insight Head Coach Brian McClennan looks ahead to the Rhinos game against Bradford Bulls this Friday at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, kick off 8pm Will it be good to be back at Headingley Carnegie? It seems like we have been away from home for a long time so it will be really good to be back at Headingley Carnegie on Friday after three consecutive weeks on the road. It is always nice to play in front of our home fans, who give us such a lift, and what better time to do it than in the local derby match against Bradford Bulls. Games against Bradford are always eagerly anticipated by both players and fans and we are expecting tonight’s game to be a good Yorkshire derby. How tough a challenge will Bradford be? We will be playing Bradford for the fourth time this season tonight, but that does not take anything away from how special this derby is in the rugby calendar. Apart from the first time we played them this season, when we were able to grab a 44-2 win, every game against Bradford this season has been pretty tight, right up until the last quarter so we are expecting another challenge on Friday. Bradford have some very good players in their side but the most important thing for us is to concentrate on ourselves and that is what we have been focused on this week in training and making sure our players stand out. How are the squad shaping up? We welcome back Brent Webb and Scott Donald to the side tonight and it is great to have them both back in contention. They both bring a wealth of experience which is so valuable to us and when they play they make the Rhinos a better side. Spirits in the camp have been positive this week and we are confident we can bounce back from our recent defeats. We have a strong belief in each other and there is a lot of fortitude amongst us. We believe we can improve and we want to feel the joy of playing well and coming up with a good performance and hopefully we will be able to start doing that straight away tonight.
