Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has jetted home to the UK ahead of his Rhinos team mates to be with his wife ahead of the birth of their second child. Originally it was planned that Sinfield would leave straight after the game but because the kick off was delayed by half an hour, the Great Britain international had to leave the ground after an hour of the match. It was left to Great Britain captain Jamie Peacock to do the honours and pick up the Crystal trophy for the inaugural Australia Day Challenge. Head Coach Brian McClennan commented, "Kevin makes a lot of sacrifaces for this team so we were more than happy to make one for him. We wish him a safe journey home and we look forward to catching up with him next week and hope everything goes well at home." Don’t forget the Rhinos start their engage Super League title defence next Saturday at Headingley Carnegie against Hull KR.
