The first girl’s rugby league event of the New Year in Leeds will be held on Saturday 26th January 2008.

The first girl’s rugby league event of the New Year in Leeds will be held on Saturday 26th January 2008. Hosted by Middleton Corinthians home of the most successful girls rugby league club in the country, Middleton Girls, new and existing players will be invited to come along for a fun training session. From 10am until 12noon girls of all ages will be given the opportunity to be trained by coaches from Leeds Rhinos Community team, Leeds Service and Leeds Met Carnegie. Appearances from the engage Super League Cup and Ronnie the Rhino will make the event extra special. Existing female players and girls that want to come along and try rugby league for the first time are all welcome! From 12noon female rugby league matches will begin, starting with Middleton U16s vs Warrington U16s which promises to be a fantastic showcase of female rugby league. At 1pm female amateur teams from across Leeds will compete in a mini festival with age groups ranging from U12s, U14s and U16s. All are welcome to stay and watch to support the continued female development of rugby league in Leeds. The event will be free of charge. No need to book just come along on the day in suitable kit!
