Keep up to date on the Rhinos first day of their warm weather training camp in America.

The Rhinos squad had an early start for their pre-season training camp as the squad and back room staff met at Headingley Carnegie at 5.45am to head to Manchester Airport for the flight to Orlando. The trip gave three of the Rhinos the chance to catch up on their studies as Kevin Sinfield, Matt Diskin and Jamie Jones-Buchanan used the nine hour flight over to Florida to work on their dissertation as part of the degree studies at Leeds Metropolitan University. There was plenty of opportunities for people to catch up on their cinema going with the majority of the squad enjoying the Ben Stiller film "The Heartbreak Kid" during the journey. The contrasting fortunes of Super League XII were on display. As the 2007 Champions arrived in Orlando, Salford City Reds, who suffered the fate of relegation, were leaving the Sunshine State,. Shaun McRea and his team have just finished a week long training camp in Jacksonville at the University of North Florida, where the Rhinos will train and play in the next ten days, and were heading in the opposite direction back to Manchester. Once the lengthy delays in American Immigration had been negotiated, the Rhinos team headed for their transport for the two and half hour drive up to Jacksonville. The Rhinos have been kindly loaned the team coach of the Jacksonville Barraccudas, the city’s ice hockey team. Almost 19 hours after they set off from Headingley Carnegie the Rhinos finally arrived at their Jacksonville base to begin their training camp and ready for a well earned rest before the real work begins on Friday.
