On this day in 2000 Leeds were in action at home in the Challenge Cup to St Helens as the Rhinos looked to retain the trophy for a second consecutive year. Already Leeds had defeated Featherstone and in this game thanks to a try each from Darren Fleary and Adrian Sheridan and two from Adrian Morley the team were able to progress to the quarter finals to face Dewsbury. The game through was a close affair and luckily for the home side their captain was accurate with his kicks, landing five goals to give the team a 26-20 win.
