Leeds Rhinos full back, Richard Mathers, has received a timely boost, by being named the ‘Tetley’s Rhino of the Month’ for April.

Having been ruled out for the rest of the season by injury, Leeds Rhinos full back, Richard Mathers, has received a timely boost, by being named the ‘Tetley’s Rhino of the Month’ for April. Mathers (22) had been in fantastic form recently, before his setback during the defeat to Hull FC, which saw him, edge clear of his team mates in the fans vote to secure the monthly award. Votes were collated through the Yorkshire Evening Post and official club website www.leedsrugby.com In a further boost for the tough tackling full back, Leeds United fan, Mathers, was presented with his award by The Whites Manager, Kevin Blackwell, ahead of their trip to Cardiff. Mathers said, "It was an honour to receive the award from Kevin Blackwell, especially in such a busy week for him and his team. It’s great to receive the award and I would like to thank all the fans who voted". Tetley’s, the Rhinos official club sponsor, has teamed up with the Yorkshire Evening Post this season to offer fans the chance to vote for their favourite player each month. One lucky fan can also win the chance to present the Tetley’s ‘Rhino of the Month’ with his trophy just by registering their vote. So make sure you look out for the special voting forms in the Yorkshire Evening Post after the Rhinos match against Bradford on Friday 26th and vote for who you think is the Tetley’s Rhino of the Month for May.
