In this weeks edition of Headingley Carnegie Insight Tony Smith looks ahead to the Rhinos clash with Bradford Bulls at Odsal this Friday, kick off 8pm. WERE YOU PLEASED WITH LAST WEEKS PERFORMANCE? I thought we produced a very professional performance against a tough, well coached team in Rochdale. We had to stick to our objectives and work hard for each other and probably the scoreline does not give a fair reflection of that for people who were not at the game. We were able to give a few people a rest after a tough start to the season and they will be better for the break plus Kevin Sinfield came through his comeback game well. We will need to make sure we do those little things right again this week as we return to the heat of Super League competition. ARE THE TEAM OUT TO AVENGE THE DEFEAT IN THE LAST DERBY? What’s gone before does not concern us and I’m sure it doesn’t concern Bradford. This is a new game and two points are up for grabs for both teams. Our preparations have been good this week and we are all looking forward to the game and hopefully producing a performance we can be proud of. Odsal is a tough place to go and we know we will have to be ready from the start if we are going to compete for the whole game. The Bulls have got a real figting spirit, as they showed with the last gasp try at Headingley Carnegie, and we need to match that spirit and determination. WILL YOU BE MAKING ANY CHANGES THIS WEEK? Mark O’Neill picked up a slight shoulder injury last week that is not quite right for Friday. It’s the other shoulder from the one he had the operation on earlier this year but it is not a major concern. For a game as intense as Friday night you can not afford to go into the match with anyone who is not 100% and I would expect him to be available for selection next week. Jamie Peacock, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Gareth Ellis will all come back into the squad after missing out last week.
