Scans have cleared Sydney Roosters forward Adrian Morley of a broken thumb, meaning he could now be available for Great Britain’s Test against New Zealand on June 27. The former Leeds forward suffered the injury playing for the Roosters on Sunday and it was intially thought his right thumb was broken. But scans have revealed only ligament damage and the 27-year-old may now make the trip home to face New Zealand. There was more good news from Down Under for Great Britain coach Brain Noble after Irish winger Brian Carney scored a hat-trick of tries for the Newcastle Knights. The Knights’ 22-12 win over Canberra moved Newcastle to the top of Australia’s National Rugby League. Noble is hopeful that Carney will be cleared to return for the clash with the Kiwis. Tickets for the ‘XXXX’ Test between Great Britain and New Zealand at St Helens RLFC, Knowsley Road Stadium are on sale now.
