RHINOS IN SEARCH FOR NEW HEAD OF YOUTH PERFORMANCE

Leeds Rhinos are looking to recruit a new Head of Youth Performance to follow in the footsteps of Dean Bell, Daryl Powell, Mick Cook and Stuart Wilkinson.

Leeds Rhinos are looking to recruit a new Head of Youth Performance to follow in the footsteps of Dean Bell, Daryl Powell, Mick Cook and Stuart Wilkinson. Wilkinson, the previous incumbent of the position, left Headingley Carnegie in the close season to join Wigan and the club are now looking for a suitable candidate to take the club forward in the coming years. Chief Executive Gary Hetherington commented, "This is one of the most important jobs at the club and certainly one of the most rewarding. Dean Bell was our first Head of Youth Performance back in 1998, followed by Mick Cook, Daryl Powell and Stuart Wilkinson and they have all played a key role. "This is the first time the position has been advertised and we are looking for someone with special qualities," added Hetherington. The job will be based at the Leeds Rugby Academy and the successful applicant will manage and develop the Rhinos Player Development Scheme, providing vision, leadership, structure and motivation to the dedicated group of professional staff, coaches, players and volunteers. The role includes the management of the clubs involvement with the Service Area, Scholarship Scheme, Academy teams, Player and Coach Education, recruitment and talent identification, the RFL Performance Director, UK Sport and Leeds Metropolitan University Sports Science. Applications should be made in writing by Friday 14th April to Kellie Gummerson, HR Manager, Leeds Rugby Limited, Headingley Carnegie Stadium, St Michael’s Lane, Leeds, LS6 3BR or email [email protected]
