HOW ARE THE SQUAD SHAPING UP AFTER TWO TOUGH GAMES? Having reflected on the game against Bradford last week, both teams and the referee deserve a great deal of credit for how the game was played and manner in which everyone approached the match. It was a high quality game played in the right spirit and was how the game should be played; hard and fair with both teams pushing themselves to the limit. Our game at Salford wasn’t our best performance because there were plenty of flat spots but it might be the best we can do four days after a game. We recorded another clean sheet which was really pleasing, especially for the players. It wasn’t an aim at the start of the game but it became one amongst the players as the match went on. The best kind of goals are ones that the players set themselves and you could see that the longer the game went on on Monday, the more determined they became not to concede a point. ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO FACING YOUR OLD CLUB ON FRIDAY? I am delighted for the club that they have had such a great start to the season in both Super League and the Challenge Cup. Having worked with Jon Sharp I know he is a quality coach and will have his team well prepared for Friday’s game. We have watched a few of their games on tape and they will be a tough challenge for us. Both teams will be feeling the effects of the recent run of games but they will want to put in a good performance ahead of the semi final next week. DO YOU HAVE ANY INJURY WORRIES? We have a slight problem with our front rowers with Danny Ward and Ryan Bailey both carrying injuries. They will both have fitness tests on Friday morning to see if they are right for the game and Nick Scruton is on stand by to come in. Keith Senior and Dave Furner are both cleared to return to action but we are still without Gary Connolly and Matt Adamson for this weeks game.
