Debut: Vs Warrington Wolves (H) 05/04/2024
The Rhinos secured a major junior signing coup with the capture of England U18 Rugby Union international Ned McCormack in 2023.
The back caught the attention of Premiership Rugby Union clubs with his performances for England in 2023, having come through the Yorkshire Academy. A pupil at Woodhouse Grove School, he opted to turn his back on the fifteen-man code to follow his dream of playing Rugby League for his home town club, Leeds Rhinos alongside his younger brother Fergus.
Under 12 months after joining the club, McCormack impressed Rohan Smith and his staff enough to train with the first team during pre-season for the 2024 season and was awarded the number 31 shirt. He went on to make his club and Super League debut in the Rhinos home clash with Warrington later that year.
The centre made his Academy bow in a win over Bradford Bulls Academy at Odsal, scoring his first try in the 50-32 win, before finishing the season with five tries in as many games.
He has previously played junior Rugby League with Farnley Falcons and Leeds Leopards.
