Rhinos debut: v St Helens 25/03/2012

Before signing for the Rhinos Academy Stevie played for local amateur sides Churwell Chiefs and Hunslet Warriors and has drawn comparisons with Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield.

In 2012 Stevie committed himself to a new long term contract with the World Champions after signing a five year contract to keep him at Headingley Carnegie until at least the end of the 2017 Super League season.

The new contract was reward for a breakthrough season where he had made his debut aged 18 against St Helens and went onto esatblish his place in the side, making 21 appearances over the campaign.  That year he appeared in the Challenge Cup Final and won the Grand Final against Warrington when he came on as a replacement, although he suffered a shoulder injury in the game and underwent an operation to fix a labrum tear in his shoulder just hours after winning the trophy

During the season he was selected to play for England Academy for the tour to Australia but having broke into the first team opted to remain in England to play for the club.

As well as his commitments to the first team Stevie also made nine appearances for the U20s during the 2012 campaign and registered an impressive seven tries and also represented the U20s and played in the Nines tournament for Leeds.

After making a promising start to 2013 season and featuring in the World Club Challenge against Melbourne Storm he suffered a shoulder injury that kept him on the sidelines for the majority of the campaign

Stevie returned to action in to play 22 games, but further injuries hindered his involvement with the first team.

He was the inaugural John Holmes Trophy winner in 2010 and joined the Rhinos that same year, making his first appearance for the U18 against Hull KR in the Valvoline Academy.

In 2009 he was part of the England youth squad who took part of the England youth squad who took part in the European Nations Cup in Serbia alongside France, Wales, Serbia, Scotland, Russia and a European Celts side.

He represented England Academy in 2010 and was a try scorer in their narrow defeat to France and the following year was named in the England Academy side, representing them in their game against the Australian Institute of Sport alongside fellow Rhinos players James Duckworth and Jordan Baldwinson.

A fortnight before playing in the Challenge Cup Final Stevie received his A level results from Woodkirk Academy and gained an A in P.E. and B's in English Literature and English Language.

He has a twin sister and all his family are massive Rhinos supporters and when his playing career is over he would like to pursue a career in journalism.

The player he admires most in the game is Darren Lockyer and his all time favourite film is Ace Ventura
