Headingley Carnegie Memorial Garden & Remembrance Book

Memorial Garden and Book of Remembrance

Those involved in professional sport at Headingley Carnegie Stadium believe it is important to create a lasting memory of those loved ones who have passed away. We are therefore proud to offer our fans the Remembrance Book situated which provides a unique opportunity for their names to be remembered.

The leather bound Remembrance Book is displayed in the entrance to the Yorkshire County Cricket Office and has a separate page for each day of the year for your personal message of remembrance, with each dedication being hand inscribed by a calligrapher.

The Stadium also has the Memorial Garden which is situated adjacent to the Gatehouse, and has a handcrafted memorial stone dedicated to everyone who has spent many a happy time here at Headingley Carnegie. The stone is surrounded by two benches and seasonal flowers and provides a place where you can lay your own flowers and tributes throughout the year.

Alongside this, there is an annual open-air (weather permitting) service held on 1st August, Yorkshire Day, within the ground. During the service, the name of your loved one will be read out and there will be the opportunity to light a candle in thankfulness and memory of their lives.
