Robins next up for Rhinos Reserves on Saturday
As the Reserves season approaches the halfway stage, Leeds Rhinos Reserves look to return to winning ways as Tony Smith's side take on Hull KR at Sewell Group Craven Park on Saturday afternoon, kick off 1pm.
Leeds have had a mixed start to the season, after coming up short of a potential Reserves Grand Final appearance in 2023. Last weekend saw them lose out 36-16 to Warrington at AMT Headingley, as a fightback saw the Rhinos come to within eight points of drawing level only to lose their grip to the Wolves in the dying moments. This week though, Smith's side look to add to their impressive victory over St Helens last month as they take on the Robins on the road.
Smith has followed a similar trend to last season as he has kept homegrown talents at the club to feature in the Reserves competition. Jack Sinfield and Ben Littlewood have led the tryscoring with three tries, whilst Alfie Edgell and Oliver Smart, who also plays in the club's Academy, got their first tries of the season against Warrington last time out.
Hull KR's sole win of the season against Warrington at the start of March is the only match the Robins Reserves have played this season. Dave Hodgson's side missed out on a clash with Bradford a fortnight ago, but this week is an opportunity for their younger players to get minutes under their belts. Winger Neil Tchamambe could be in line to face his former side after a move east in the off-season, whilst Phoenix Laulu-Togagae, Leo Tennison and Lennie Ellis are ones to watch too.
