Academy squad named for Keighley clash

Leeds Rhinos U19s will play their final pre-season match when they travel to League One’s Keighley Cougars for this Sunday’s Derek Hallas Trophy, kick off 3pm.

The match will honour Hallas who played for both Leeds and Keighley between 1953 and 1963, with the visitors looking to get a win over the Keighley, who came out 50-12 victory in last season’s friendly.

Rob Burrow has named two new players in Sunday’s squad; Jack Mallinson will join Callum McClelland in the halves whilst centre Tom Barton will come off the bench. Lewis Delaney is also in line to debut after missing out against Hunslet. The trio are part of a cohort of eleven players that have made the step up from the Rhinos scholarship programme and have featured in matches throughout the pre-season.

Tom Holroyd has been ruled out by a late fitness test and his place is taken by Ryan Rowley amongst the replacements.

Tyler Dupree is the final change, making his first appearance with the academy team after a knee injury in the post season.
