ON THIS DAY in 2005 Leeds maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 38-6 win over Warrington Wolves at Headingley. Keith Senior crossed fora hat trick and Mark Calderword, Marcus Bai, Richard Mathers and Danny Ward all crossed for tries for the Champions.

The Rhinos were convincing 58-10 winners over Catalans Dragons in Perpignan with Jordan Tansey scoring on debut.

The Rhinos played with a strong wind at their back in the first half and were soon on the scoreboard. Good handling released Rob Burrow before the Rhinos switched to the other side of the pitch and a good offload from Lauitiiti set McGuire away and he touched down in the corner. Sinfield kicked the conversion to make it 6-0. 

A fine second half performance saw the Rhinos back to winning ways with a 46-12 win over Salford at Headingley Carnegie.

ON THIS DAY in 2016 Leeds were defeated 28-6 against Wigan Warriors, with Zak Hardaker scoring the only try for the Rhinos. Oliver Gildart, Dom Manfredi, Tony Clubb and Anthony Gelling all crossed in a 12 minute spell for the Warriors adding to John Bateman’s first-half try.
