Wetherby Whaler Festive Challenge Match Day Information
Leeds Rhinos host Wakefield Trinity in the Wetherby Whaler Festive Challenge on Boxing Day when we mark the official opening of the new Tetley’s South Stand at Emerald Headingley Stadium. Turnstiles open at 9.30am and there’s loads of pre match entertainment to enjoy before kick off at 11.30am:
10.30am –Enjoy carol singers performing outside the Club Shop
10.35am –Look out for Ronnie the Rhino meeting and greeting fans around the ground
10.40am –South Stand Band live performance on the South Stand podium in the concourse
10.50am –Interviews on the South Stand podium with Keith Senior, Roy Dickinson & Barrie McDermott, hosted by Alex Simmons
11am – John Innes performing two festive classics on the Emerald Headingley pitch
11.10am – Official opening ceremony commences on the pitch. Ex players Keith McLellan, Garry Schofield OBE, George Broughton, Alan Smith, Bill Ramsey, Graham Eccles, Roy Dickinson, Colin Maskill, Carl Gibson, Francis Cummins, Barrie McDermott, Keith Senior, Rob Burrow, Jamie Peacock MBE and Kevin Sinfield MBE will all be part of the opening ceremony
11.20am – Official opening of the Tetley’s South Stand
11.25am – John Innes will be performing Nessun Dorma on the pitch
11.29am – The Last Post & memorial to all those we have lost this year
11.30am – Kick off Leeds Rhinos v Wakefield Trinity
Half Time – Interview with Brett Delaney on the pitch plus other half time entertainment, including half time team games from Ambassador Clubs Leeds Underdogs U10s, Whinmoor Warriors U10s, Stanningley U10s, Bramley U10s, Milford U10s and Shaw Cross U10s
Full Time – Stick around for the winning team presentation on the pitch, post match interviews on the South Stand podium and also in the Long Bar
Please note that there will be NO cash turnstiles on the South Stand on match day, so we urge you to book tickets in advance to secure your place in the Tetley’s South Stand on Boxing Day.
Match tickets are priced £18 for adults and £13 for concessions* in all standing terraces including the South Stand. Seated tickets are £25 for adults and £18 for concessions* for a seat in the South Stand or Extentia Stand (formerly Carnegie Stand).
Remember, if you’re a Season or Supporter Member you get a £3 discount on these prices if you book in advance (discount is not valid on match day).
Tickets for all juniors (16 & under) are amazing value at just £5 for standing terraces and £10 for seated areas.

Can I Pay On The Day?
The South Stand turnstiles will be open for South Stand match ticket holders only on match day. Please note there are no longer cash turnstiles for the South Stand. Tickets for South Stand Terrace or South Stand Seats can be purchased from the Ticket Office on match day but please arrive early as we expect queues.
Cash turnstiles will be available on St Michael’s Lane and Kirkstall Lane on match day for entry to the Extentia Terrace (formerly Carnegie Terrace) or West Terrace only.
Please note that all South Stand ticket holders can any of the turnstiles on match day, including St Michael’s Lane & Kirkstall Lane.
Can I Collect My Tickets?
Remember, if you buy tickets in advance you can choose to print your tickets at home to avoid the collections queue on match day.
Alternatively, if you would like a souvenir ticket for the match you can collect your tickets before match day – click here for our Christmas opening hours – or collect them on match day but please arrive early as we are anticipating large queues at the Ticket Office.

Food & Drink
Food and drinks are available to purchase on match day from concession vans around the ground and from the Extentia Café Bar. The Long Bar will be open for all supporters post match with drinks available to purchase. All our bars have the option to pay cash or pay by card.
