Leeds Rhinos Women return to action in the Women’s Super League this Sunday 12th June against York City Knights Ladies at Sports Park Weetwood, for their second home game of the season.

Adam Cuthbertson’s side are currently second in the league behind St Helens and face bottom placed York City Knights Ladies, who are yet to pick up a victory in the competition so far.  Knights coach, Daryl North, has praised his developing side and praised their growth and improving performances in their Super League season, but his team have had two tough games in recent weeks, firstly going out of the Challenge Cup with a 68-0 defeat to Widnes followed by a 50-0 loss to third placed Wigan and they will be keen to kick start their season against the Rhinos this weekend.

Looking ahead to the fixture Cuthbertson said: “The team are really looking forward to getting back out there this weekend, following a week off last week.  We are really pleased with the way we have started the season and although it is pleasing to be up at the top end of the league there is a lot of work to do before the end of the season and we must be at our best this weekend against York.

“We played our first game at Sports Park Weetwood against Wakefield in the Challenge Cup and its a superb venue for our home games.  The team were thrilled to see so many people come to support them and we hope they will continue to come along and watch this team throughout the season.”
