Tea and Talk information evenings for Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Active Beyond Cancer programme

In September Leeds Rhinos Foundation, in partnership with Yorkshire Cancer Research, will be run their free Active Beyond Cancer programme, for people looking to build back their fitness following cancer diagnosis and next week they will be holding three tea and talk evenings to introduce the programme and offer more information for those interested in attending.

In September Leeds Rhinos Foundation, in partnership with Yorkshire Cancer Research, will be run their free Active Beyond Cancer programme, for people looking to build back their fitness following cancer diagnosis and next week they will be holding three tea and talk evenings to introduce the programme and offer more information for those interested in attending.

Active Beyond Cancer is a free 12-week programme for people who have been affected by cancer and aims to rebuild fitness by increasing and maintaining physical activity, boost confidence, improve health and wellbeing and reduce the risk of recurrence and other long-term health conditions.

Working with Leeds City Council, the programme will be run at three locations, Armley, Rothwell and Fearnville leisure centres, from 25th September with a female only, male only and mixed groups available.

The programme is suitable for all people affected by cancer at any point, whether recently diagnosed, receiving treatment or in post-treatment who will be able to take part in a variety of physical activities tailored to the needs of their group from Zumba Gold, Thai Chi, ballroom dancing classes to walking rugby, group exercise circuits and chair exercises.

The programme is available through self-referrals via Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s health practitioners where you can receive further information on our three Tea and Talk information events, referral process, programme start dates, times and locations.
