Hunslet Hawks v Oldham preview

Hunslet Hawks entertain Oldham in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup on Sunday looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Keighley Cougars on Easter Monday.

The under par Hawks lost to the Cougars 18-22 and despite a late fightback the clock just beat them.

Pre season signing and ex Leeds Rhino Aston Wilson will make his debut following a hand injury and there is a welcome return for another ex Rhino Tom Bush along with Lee Mapals and the ever reliable Stuart Kain.

Callum Windley returns following a double fractured cheekbone replacing Paul Hughes.

Waine Pryce & Danny Ansell are both omitted while John Oakes misses out through injury.

Dual registered Liam Hood looks set to return to action next week if he passes a fitness test over the weekend.

Championship 1 Oldham include veteran half back Neil Roden and ex Leeds junior Mo Agoro in their squad, they have a mixture of youth and experience and will rely on the play making abilities of Roden along with young goal kicking scrum half Jamie Dallimore and ex Wigan forward Sam Gee and the experienced Jason Boults. Another danger to the Hawks will be ex Salford back Lewis Palfrey and Dale Bloomfield ex St Helens & Rochdale winger who has a target for the Hawks over the winter.

Admission is £12 Adults, £6 Concessions, £3 Juniors and all Adult season ticket holders are required to pay on the gate.
Kick off is 3pm.

The pre match game is between Hunslet Warriors v West Leeds under 9’s and this kicks off at 1.20pm
