Shaw was a member of the Great Britain World Cup winning squad in 1960 and was loose forward in the Leeds team who finally won the Championship in 1961. Sadly, this year marks the 50th anniversary of that achievement and all the team have been invited to a special celebration to coincide with our game against Warrington, the opponents at Odsal in 1961, on 27th May.
Shaw earned five Great Britain caps while at Hunslet appearing twice against Australia in 1956 and against France and Australia in the successful World Cup campaign for years later as well as an international against France earlier that year. His only appearance as a Leeds player was against New Zealand in 1962.
On behalf of everyone at the club we would like send our deepest condolences to Brian's family and friends at this sad time.
