In addition, the draw for next May’s Magic Weekend, which will take place at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh on 1 and 2 May, will also take place on Wednesday and will be drawn live on Sky Sports News shortly after 1pm.
The 2010 season will kick off on the weekend of 30 and 31 January, and will feature two fixtures in order to free up space in the calendar for NRL champions Melbourne Storm to play two fixtures in the UK.
One fixture on the opening weekend will involve champions Leeds Rhinos to allow them to take part in the World Club Challenge on Sunday February 28 and the other opening fixture will involve Harlequins RL. This will provide Quins with a free week on the weekend of 20 and 21 February to play Melbourne Storm in a friendly match.
The official Round 1 of the competition featuring all 14 clubs will be on the weekend of 6 and 7 February.
Wednesday’s Magic Weekend draw, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports News after 1pm, will see the 14 engage Super League clubs split into two pools.
The top eight finishing sides from this season will be in one pool and drawn against each other to provide four fixtures, whilst the bottom six from Super League XIV will be in a second pool to be drawn against each other providing three further fixtures.
Although the fixtures will be drawn on Wednesday, a decision on which fixtures will be played on which day at the Magic Weekend will not be confirmed until a later date.
Sky Sports will also announce the first tranche of their televised fixtures for engage Super League XV on Wednesday.
