World Cup winner Greg Eastwood finally got to pull on a Leeds Rhinos shirt as he launched the new look 2010 home kit for the three times engage Super League Champions.
Eastwood is in Leeds this week with the New Zealand squad ahead of this Saturday’s crucial Gillette Four Nations clash with England at Galpharm Stadium. Unfortunately a broken bone in his wrist has ruled him out of the game but thankfully he was able to model the new strip and admitted he can not wait to pull it on for real at the start of the new season.
The giant forward was supposed to move to Headingley Carnegie last season but his arrival was delayed by 12 months due to red tape however he is now ready to do battle in blue and amber and is looking forward to the challenge.
He commented, “It feels great to finally pull on a Leeds shirt. I like it a lot and I’ll be picking up a couple of replica shirts to take home to my family in Australia when I go back home after the Four Nations.
“I am really looking forward to next season and beginning my life with the Rhinos. It has been frustrating over the past year but all that is behind me now and I am so excited about the future.
